Mountain Ridge Ministries is a non-profit Chirstian ministry whose main objective is to provide inspiration, encouragement, and support through the Gospel to men and women of all walks of life. They have a special heart for families touched by developmental disabilities. Author and founder of Mountain Ridge Ministries, Laura Ollis believes that her empathy and compassion for people's needs stems from her own real life experiences.
For over 30 years, Eric and Laura have devoted their lives to sharing the Gospel of Christ through their music and teaching. Eric, Laura, Payton and Mikey are genuine people with a genuine love for God. If you are looking for something spiritual for your congregation or something special for a campmeeting, concert, conference, or retreat, give Eric and Laura a call.
For the past 30+ years Eric has served the Southern Gospel music industry as pianist for groups such as Ed O’Neal & The Dixie Melody Boys and the Whisnants. Over the years Eric has lent his musical talent to the stages of The Grand Ole Opry, The Ralph Emery Show, and Hee Haw. Still today He is known across the country as “Smiley,” a name given by faithful Dixie Melody Boy fans. Embarking on a new ministry, in September 2011 Eric joined his wife, Laura aboard Mountain Ridge Ministries, the ministry she founded in 2008. “I love the opportunity God has given me to travel with my family.” - Eric
Laura married her high school sweetheart in 1993. She is a published Christian Author, Songwriter – Recording Artist and noted Speaker. She holds a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology, as well as, diplomas in Women’s Ministry and Biblical counseling. Laura currently working on her Bachelors degree in Theology and Biblical Studies at Andersonville Theological Seminiary. Laura is a Homeschool Mom and an advocate for Special Needs awareness, education and inclusion. In her free time you will find her with canvas and brush in hand.
Payton is the oldest son of Eric and Laura. During a concert you will find Payton anchoring down the Bass Vocal, as well as, the Bass Guitar. Payton is excited anytime someone wants to sit and talk about the history of Southern Gospel Music. Citing each group and its members along with the details of the bus they traveled in. It’s that love that has developed Payton’s heroes of the craft; George Younce, JD Sumner, Big Chief and currently Gene McDonald. When home, Payton spends his time hunting, fishing and trapping.
Michael is Eric and Laura’s youngest son. Due to the limitations of “Special Needs,” Mikey may not always appear at a venue with Mom and Dad. He often feels more secure in their Motor Coach with Miss Bella, Mom’s Yorki. However, if you happen to be in a service that Mikey comes in to sing with Mom your heart will melt. After being told he would never speak, you get to hear the voice Laura never grows tired of hearing. Mikey loves all things Super Hero – his favorite being Jesus, of course... and Batman.
